OUR APPROACH TO WEALTH MANAGEMENT

The Brookreson Wealth Management Group takes a holistic approach in addressing wealth management issues. Highly personalized and exceptionally flexible, this discipline involves discussions based on proven investment principles and strategies.

The process begins when we review your entire financial picture — including areas you may not have thought about. You will be guided through this discussion, which may include family members and other professional advisors such as accountants and attorneys.

1. The Role of Risk: How do you define risk, and how does your current portfolio reflect your feeling toward risk/reward?

2. Current Investments: How often is your portfolio reviewed from a cash flow, needs analysis and asset allocation point of view? What is your current asset allocation, and what steps have been taken to ensure diversification? How do you measure tax sensitivity and performance of the portfolio?1

3. Insurance2: How do you determine your need for life, disability, liability and long-term-care insurance? Have you taken steps to help ensure that you and the people you care about are adequately covered?

4. Debts/Other Liabilities3: How do you manage the liability side of your balance sheet?

5. Retirement Plans: How do you envision your retirement life style, and how are you preparing for it? What is your strategy to shift from wealth accumulation to retirement income and wealth preservation?

6. Stock Options: If your company compensates you through a stock option plan, are you using a tax-efficient strategy? How do you manage risk associated with these assets?

7. Closely-Held Business: What is the current market value of your business, and how was it determined? What succession planning have you done? What plans are in place to handle life-changing events by other partners and family members?

8. Transition Plan for Investment Portfolio: What vehicles are in place to provide continuity for the management of your investments if you are unable to do so?

9. Gifting to Children/Descendants: How have you handled gifting in the past? How did you measure how it impacted your overall strategy and portfolio?

10. Charitable Giving: What are your current feelings about charitable giving? How do you measure the impact of your gift on your present lifestyle and on your future goals?

11. Titling of Assets1: What steps have you taken to ensure the titling of your assets reflects your overall estate planning strategy?

12. Estate Transition Plan for Investment Portfolio: Has adequate planning been completed to ensure your wishes are carried out? How often are your wills and trusts reviewed and updated?
